NEW-LOOK Matlock were worthy winners against a battling Bamber Bridge, but they needed persistence at both ends of the field to earn their opening day points.
Marcus Marshall scored the 34th-minute winner, this after Piteu Crouz’s effort had initially struck the woodwork and further efforts from Andrew Wright and Luke Dean were both blocked before at the fourth attempt Marshall smacked the ball home.
