JOSH BARRETT got a rare goal as Scarborough Athletic saw off Matlock town in a tight encounter at the Flamingo Land Stadium.
Scarborough started sharply. A good ball forward by Pete Davidson got James Walshaw his first chance, only to be denied by Jon Stewart in
the Matlock goal.
Walshaw was then picked out by Isaac Assenso, but headed inches wide of the post.
But the hosts’ bright start eventually paid off, Barrett directing a Michael Coulson cross into the back of the net to claim a deserved lead.
