■ MOSSLEY continued their perfect start to the new season with victory at Widnes.
Widnes started well, but a lack of ruthlessness in front of goal let them down, with Dale Latham making a series of saves to deny Jordan Barrow and Ben Wharton.
Mossley took the lead against the run of play after 23 minutes through Anthony Brown, whose initial shot was saved by Owen Wheeler, but the ball rebounded off the Mossley man and into the net.
