TWO late goals sent Colne deeper into the relega tion zone after they had led for much of a game that only went ahead after an inspec tion on a rain sodden pitch.
The Reds were looking to lift themselves away from trouble and looked on course when they took the lead after 24 minutes through striker Owen Watkinson’s angled shot into the far corner. But Newcastle always posed a threat and competed well on the heavy pitch with Colne having to thank goal keeper Hakan Burton for some vital saves.
