■ BEDWORTH started this important relegation battle against Rushden & Diamonds the brighter, taking the lead after just 21 minutes after Leo Stone found the net.
Bedworth were reduced to ten men after 44 minutes after danger-man Charlie Dowd earned himself a straight red card.
Despite their numerical advantage and Dowd’s early bath, Diamonds struggled to make it count as they were constantly denied by a stubborn away defence who were determined to protect their slender advantage until the last kick of the game.
