■HEATON Stannington defeated Bishop Auckland in a Friday night game of two halves.
The Stan dominated the opening half but Alfie Marriott, Richard Slaughter, Connor Walker and Konnor Lamb all failed to convert good openings.
Dan Stephenson’s corners made the difference. In the 38th minute, his delivery was helped on by Dan Capewell and bundled home by Leighton Hopper.
In stoppage time, Stephenson’s corner was headed home by Marriott.
