■ BOTH sides came into the match desperate for a result — Clitheroe winless in three and Darlaston without a victory since mid-August — but it was the visitors who finally found their spark, running out the winners.
Clitheroe made the perfect start when Luke Gill tapped home from close range after a superb cross from Veron Parny. The same duo combined again soon after, Gill capitalising on a misplaced pass from Jake Pearson to slot in his second and double the lead.
