NEITHER Congleton nor Atherton will be happy with a point as both these two sides fired blanks.
Atherton were the better side in the opening exchanges, and they should have taken the lead when Dave Parton’s clearance ricocheted off Harry Showman. The on-loan forward controlled the ball before shooting straight at Parton.
