SCOTT MAXFIELD has left his position as player-assistant manager of Buxton.

Maxfield first arrived at Silverlands as player-coach in 2007 and went on to make over 250 appearances for them.

He was named as the club’s player-manager following the departure of John Reed in November 2011 but stood down to become player-assistant manager when Martin McIntosh was named as new Bucks’ boss two months later.

A statement on the club’s website said: “The club would like to place on record their thanks to Scott for his services and wish him well for the future.”
