■ AN ABJECT performance from Barnstaple saw Melksham claim their first victory of the season.
Melksham created the only real opportunities of the opening 30 minutes with Jay Malshanskyj shooting high and wide from inside the box and Phil Ormrod produced the very best from goalkeeper Adam Seedhouse-Evans.
The opening goal came from the spot, with Ormrod making no mistake to send Seedhouse-Evans the wrong way.
