■ WINCHESTER claimed their first win of the season when they overcame Evesham United.
The first half was fairly uneventful, but was enlivened by a superbly struck free-kick from Joshua McCormick, which gave Winchester the lead four minutes before the break.
The second half was more open and Charlie Philpott in the Winchester goal had to make some good saves to preserve their lead.
Evesham’s Thomas Chamberlain was sent off, but even with ten men they still looked dangerous in attack.
