CANVEY hit the woodwork three times as they were held to a goalless draw by Romford.
On a trio of occasions in the first half, the frame of the visitors’ goal denied Canvey, with Michael Finneran being denied first after 12 minutes.
Harrison Chatting then saw a 30-yard shot turned onto the bar by goalkeeper Matt Cafer, before Conor Hubble hit a post with a stunning overhead kick on the stroke of half-time.
