■ AN 89th-minute goal by Tom Mahone was the difference between the sides at the Berry Street Garage Stadium as Workington took the three points back to Cumbria.
In a quiet first half Reuben Jerome had the first notable chance of the game but his shot was turned wide by Sam Ashton. Simon Wills hit the side netting for the hosts.
Only three minutes into the second half Wills was dismissed, putting Bootle up against it for the rest of the match.
