MERSTHAM kept up their push for the play-offs with a comfortable win over relegation-threatened Lancing.
The Moatsiders were ahead after just three minutes – a Charlie Greenwood pass found Emmanuel Robe 12 yards out and the winger fired low into the far corner.
Korrey Henry almost extended the lead in the 11th minute, when his scuffed shot hit the inside of the post and was scrambled away.
Merstham had several opportunities to extend their lead before Johnson was pushed in the back and the referee pointed to the spot.
