■ A SCRAPPY game was  decided by a soft goal five minutes into the second half.
Garforth forced a corner on the right, and from it the ball was bundled over the line by home goalkeeper Ryan Catterick.
The visitors had a chance in the second minute but a shot by Nash Connolly was clutched by Catterick.
Ashington’s first opportunity came shortly before the break when Liam Henderson’s lob from 35 yards dipped just over the bar.
