MERSTHAM prepared for the play-offs with a narrow win at Eastbourne.
The game got off to a slow start and a Merstham side showing eight changes took time to gel.
But as the first half wore on, Merstham began to get on top.
Town had to thank keeper Chris Winterton for a string of fine saves, especially one from Olu Lawal low to his left.
However, in first half added time he was helpless as a close range header from Jude Molloy bounced up and against the bar.
