■ A PENALTY by Owen Bellamy decided the match in Witham Town’s favour at the Full Vision Stadium.
The visitors dominated possession in the first half when Takeley’s goalkeeper Jarvis Monk was the busiest player on the pitch.
Bellamy and Ernest Okoh orchestrated Witham’s best attacking moves.
Takeley were much improved in the second half with Uko Oji and substitute Jamal Obeng causing problems for the Witham rearguard.
There were chances at both ends but both sides lacked a cutting edge.
