BRIGHTLINGSEA were the only one of the bottom nine to win, but remain in the bottom two despite beating Waltham Abbey.
The Abbotts have never beaten Brightlingsea and that run continued after a difficult afternoon.
It was a fairly dour contest with both teams really needing a win but the pressure of avoiding defeat stifled much of the attacking instincts of both teams.
