■ DOWNHAM Town boosted their survival hopes with a vital victory over relegation rivals Heybridge Swifts at Memorial Field.
The hosts fully deserved their success, which moved them to within two points of Lowestoft Town in 18th place and kept their fight for safety firmly alive in the Isthmian North.
Downham took the lead with a superbly executed counter-attack, finished clinically by Charlie Royle.
Town continued to threaten throughout the second half but were made to wait for a crucial second goal as the Swifts battled to stay in the contest.
