THE FIRST of consecutive Saturday games in league and cup between these two teams saw a keenly contested match that could have gone either way as the battled raged throughout the contest.
Boro were by far the stronger of the two sides in the first half; beavering and harrying away at an uninspiring Gosport side.
However Boro’s attacking players, for all their working like a well rehearsed team of surgeons to fashion the finest of incisions, forgot to sharpen their scalpels beforehand.
