TRANMERE ROVERS boss Gary Brabin is confident his squad has enough quality to turn their season around.

Rovers have won just two of their past 11 games and are now 12th in the league, eight points adrift of the play-offs.

Former Cambridge United, Luton Town and manager Brabin felt his side deserved more in their 1-1 draw at on Saturday and is backing his squad to climb the table over the busy festive period.

“I think the honesty and endeavour of the players warrants more than what we’ve been getting at the moment,” he said.

“Saturday was a good performance and we were unfortunate not to win the game. We scored one, hit the post twice and I think it was 19 shots on target that we had, so it’s not a bad tally in terms of creating chances but we need to convert more of those.

“I think we have quality in the squad, the lads are rolling their sleeves up and we’ve gone back to doing the simple things right. I always feel like we can create chances and scoring goals.

“There’s still a long way to go but we need to start winning games to get back amongst the pack again. We’ve got a good group of lads here and there’s a belief still that once we kickstart with that first win we can go and win a combination of matches. We feel we can get stronger.”
