Barrow bag ex-Blackburn defender Myles Anderson after three-year stint in Italy

The 26-year-old, born in London, started his career at before moving north of the border to join Scottish side Aberdeen.

He made his professional debut in February 2011 but signed for Blackburn, who were then in the , six months later.

Anderson was on the move again in January 2013, leaving Ewood Park without making a first team appearance to join Exeter City.

Following one appearance with the Grecians, Anderson earned a move to Italy and signed for AC Monza in the Italian fourth tier.

After a spell on loan at Pro Patria, he joined Serie A side Chievo and later signed for third tier outfit L’Aquila. Anderson ended last season on loan at their league rivals Lupa Castelli Romani.

The defender looked set for a return to the in the summer with before the move broke down at the 11th hour.

He has now put pen to paper on a deal with high-flyers Barrow and watched his new team-mates on Saturday at while the club await international clearance.

A club statement read: “Barrow boss Paul Cox was delighted at having finally signed the central defender he has been chasing.

“Meanwhile, Shrewsbury have recalled Dominic Smith following the appointment of Paul Hurst as their new manager.”
