A meeting will be held next week to discuss the future of current Conference title sponsors Blue Square Bet.

The company’s future was thrown into question following Rank Group Plc – the owners of Blue Square Bet – issued the following brief statement about their business:

“The business operates solely in the digital channel of the highly competitive sports betting market where it continues to generate an operating loss.”

Blue Square Bet’s deal with the Conference is due to run out at the end of the season but the recently released statement has prompted the scheduling of a meeting between the three parties.

Commenting on the situation, the Conference said: “The Football Conference thinks it is appropriate to state it will be meeting Rank and Blue Square next week to discuss and consider the on-going situation.”
