LUTON TOWN Player of the Year, Alex Lawless, has signed a new two-year contract with the club, despite interest from League One suitors.
The 30-year-old midfielder was the standout player in what was ultimately a disappointing campaign for the Hatters and met with two League One clubs once the Conference Premier season had drawn to a close.
However, he has now committed his future to the Kenilworth Road outfit, much to the delight of boss John Still.
Still told the club's website: “Alex has had a great year and I have been really pleased with his contribution since I have been at the club.
“I've been really pleased with his quality and really pleased with his attitude, too. These are all components that we're going to need to be successful.
“The fact that League One clubs wanted him – and I'm aware of who those clubs are – is a fantastic testament to what he thinks of Luton Town.”
