NON-LEAGUE clubs could be set to profit from Football Association plans to scrap live TV fees and replace them with increased prize money for every round of the FA Cup.
There are still five Non-League sided left in the competition yet none of them were picked for live coverage in this weekend's third round.
Teams who made it through picked up £27,000 for winning their second round ties however the fee received for being on live TV is £144,000.
With a lack of Non-League clubs being picked for live coverage this season, and missing out on the bumper windfall associated with it, the FA are planning to readdress the balance, according to a report from The Times.
The proposed plans would see the FA live broadcast fee removed with that cash being put into the overall prize fund, which would subsequently bump up the payments for winning a game in each round.
The change, if approved, would mean more cash going to lower league clubs at the start of the competition as they battle through the qualifying rounds.
The FA recently agreed to a new six-year deal worth £820million for the FA Cup's overseas broadcast rights and the governing body plan to use some of that cash to increase their competition's prize fund.
