National Game Awards 2017/18 in association with SCL – Bull’s run just goes on

A season which brought 113 points and 111 goals in their Southern Premier League title success, plus a place in the FA Cup second round.

The Red Insure Team of the Year winner is Hereford

Peter Beadle hailed Hereford’s promotion hat-trick as they landed yet another prize.
The Bulls were worthy winners of the NGA Team of the Year after a season which brought 113 points and 111 goals in their Southern Premier League title success, plus a place in the FA Cup second round, where they eventually bowed out to League One side Fleetwood Town after a replay.

But it proved to be another remarkable campaign as they came out on top of a division where everyone in the top five won more than 90 points.
The Bulls will now lock horns with the likes of fellow ex-Football League clubs Chester, Stockport and Darlington in National League North next season and Beadle knows it will not be easy to add a fourth straight promotion success.
“To do three promotions on the bounce; we’re really proud of what the club has achieved,” he said. “To maintain that level on consistency over the years has been nothing short of phenomenal.”

FANS’ FORUM WHAT on earth has happened to the results on the Step 3&4 league websites this season? For some strange reason, matches in recent weeks that have been postponed or abandoned – such was the NPL East game between Brighouse Town and Lincoln United on Wednesday night – have...

‘I am The Secret Footballer’ – Dave Kitson ends football’s longest guessing game

For years, football fans played detective. Every new “Secret Footballer” column dropped like a clue. The voice was too inside to be a journalist. Too sharp to be a club statement. Too honest to be anyone with a contract still to protect. Now the guessing is over...
