Stratford Town seeking successor to ex-Leicester City striker Tommy Wright

Southern League Stratford Town are looking for a new manager to succeed former Leicester City striker Tommy Wright.
Only appointed by the Warwickshire club in June after Thomas Baillie left for Tamworth, Wright, pictured, went after a string of disappointing league and cup performances.
Officials at the Southern League Premier Central Division club paid tribute to the 45-year-old former Corby Town, Nuneaton Town and Darlington boss in a statement announcing his departure on Wednesday.
The appointment of Paul Davis as caretaker-manager and Steve Walker as his assistant for a second time was also announced. Former Evesham United boss Paul Collicutt has also been installed at Knights Lane in an overseeing role.
The club said: “Following a series of disappointing performances and two cup defeats the club have decided to part company with manager Tommy Wright.
“The board would like to thank Tommy for all of his hard work during his time at the club and wish him all the best in the future however we believe we need to make a change now and go in a different direction.”
Wright said: “I have enjoyed my time at the club I want to say thank to everybody at Stratford for their support and wish the club all the best in the future.
“I understand that the club wants a change of direction whilst I have a busy schedule with my role at Mansfield Town.”
Wright kicked off his playing career at Leicester City, making his first-team debut in 2002 aged 17.
Spells with Brentford, Blackpool, Barnsley, Walsall, Darlington and Aberdeen followed.
After helping Darlington lift the FA Trophy in 2011, he moved into management at Corby Town and Nuneaton Town.
As player-manager at Corby, he lifted the Southern League Premier title in 2014/15 before taking over as manager at National League North Darlington.
Since taking the position at Stratford he has also been working in Mansfield Town’s youth system.
