BEDFORD progressed through to the first round in the Trophy thanks to a 2-1 win at home.
In an even first half, Worthing were forced into two early substitutions. And one of the substitutes, Jared Rance, with a high kick over Niall Cooper, ran onto his own ball to tap it into the empty net. Just before half time, Joel Colbran was sent off for the visitors.
With a one-man advantage, Bedford attacked their opponents in the seconnd half, and were eventually rewarded with the equaliser in the 71st minute, when Dan Walker fired home from six yards.
