NEWTON Aycliffe booked their place in the First Qualifying Round of the FA Cup with a workmanlike victory over Whitley Bay.
Aycliffe quickly took the lead in the sixth minute when Jake Petitjean found the net at close range after Toby Pascoe headed into a crowded box.
Aycliffe ended the first half 2-0 up when Bay’s keeper Daniel Gladstone got stuck in no man’s land, and Dean Thexton quickly fired a looping shot from long range over the keeper.
