MORPETH Town moved closer to the play-offs places as Sam Hodgson’s first-half strike condemned Mickleover to another home defeat.
The striker, on loan from Blyth Spartans, turned in Leon Gibson-Booth’s low cross on 16 minutes to put the Highwaymen on course towards an eighth away win of the campaign. Goal-shy Sports, beaten now in four of the past five fixtures in front of their own supporters, could not conjure an equaliser and remain eight points adrift of safety.
