WORTHING maintained their challenge at the top with narrow win in a highly entertaining encounter.
The opening half-hour saw the visitors look every inch title contenders and only fine saves from the Angels goalkeeper, Matt Rowley denied Danny Cashman, Jack Spong and Mo Faal.
Tonbridge were forced into two early substitutions but they grew into the game and ended the first half with half-chances for Trevan Robinson and a strong penalty appeal that was turned away.
