MACCLESFIELD started the post-Robbie Savage era with a win at home to Worksop.
After a dominant early spell, it was Worksop who took the lead on 21 minutes, through Aleks Starcenko. Max Dearnley initially made a fingertip save to prevent Jordan Burrow but the midfielder was able to tap home the rebound from close range.
Skipper Paul Dawson was able to pull the Silkmen level just five minutes later with a great run and cushioned header from a deep Sean Etaluku cross and well worked short corner.
