LUKE Purnell was the hero as Swindon Supermarine claimed a hard-fought victory over Exmouth Town on penalties.
A swirling wind made it difficult for either side to impose themselves on the game and the early exchanges were a scrappy affair. Neither side created a goal scoring opportunity until the 40th minute.
