Neil Gibson has taken charge permanently at Altrincham following an impressive four-week interim stint that reignited the squad’s momentum.
Alongside assistant Lee Jones, Gibson has signed a contract running through the end of the 2026/27 season.
The appointment comes after the departure of long-serving manager Phil Parkinson, who transformed the Robins over an eight-year spell, guiding the club from Northern Premier League relegation in 2017 to the National League and multiple play-off campaigns.
Chairman Mark Luby paid tribute to Parkinson’s legacy, saying the club is in a far stronger position thanks to his tenure.

Momentum
Gibson, who previously managed Wealdstone with Jones, took interim charge following Parkinson’s exit.
In that period, the Robins drew against Braintree Town, exited the FA Cup at the hands of Slough, but then secured three consecutive league wins with clean sheets against Boston United, Truro City, and Brackley Town, before a 3-0 defeat to Southend at the weekend.
Chairman Luby said of the appointment: “The club has gone through a full process in appointing a new permanent manager.
“The decision to appoint Neil Gibson and Lee Jones was not taken purely on the results.
“Neil and Lee have demonstrated to the Board over the four weeks since they came into the building that they have all the experience and necessary skills to keep current momentum and continue to move us in the right direction.
“I would like to congratulate them both on their appointment; they thoroughly deserve this chance, and I am looking forward to working closely with them in the coming seasons.”
With Gibson and Jones at the helm, the club can focus on climbing the National League table and steering clear of a relegation battle this season.
