■ TEN-MAN Portchester crashed out of the Trophy at the hands of Whitstable.
Royals boss Gav Spurway selected a squad side after their extra-time midweek exertions in the FA Cup.
After a largely uneventful first half where the outstanding chance fell to Jack Nelson, the game exploded after 52 minutes, when poor defending saw Nelson open the scoring.
The game turned a minute later when Portchy keeper Kieran McGee was dismissed for foul and abusive language. Whitstable now had their tails up and it was no surprise when Derek Asamoah added a second.
