■EBBSFLEET United finally opened their National League South campaign – and made it count with a deserved victory over Walton & Hersham. United’s first six league fixtures had been postponed while the club addressed continuing financial problems, but the Fleet put their off-field troubles aside after the National League lifted their suspension.
