Two In, Two Out At Leamington

LEAMINGTON boss Paul Holleran has made his first signings of the summer, bringing in Josh Green from Brackley and Paul McCone from Stourbridge.

Green leaves Brackley with over 200 club appearances to his name and has also spent time at Luton Town and Woodford United.

He spent the majority of last term on loan at Leamington’s former Southern League Premier Division rivals Bedford Town.

McCone, 22, also competed in that league last term, skippering Stourbridge and leading them to the play-off semi-finals, where they were beaten by Gosport Borough.

He leaves the Glassboys having made over 140 appearances in their colours since joining them in 2010.

Meanwhile, club captain Jamie Hood and goalkeeper Niall Cooper have left the New Windmill Ground.

Speaking about their departure, Brakes boss Paul Holleran said: “Hoody was our Player of the Season last year, and has been tremendous for us. We thank him wholeheartedly for his services over the last three seasons and wish him all the best for the future.

“Niall has decided to leave us to seek first team football as his opportunities were limited in the second half the season. We would also like to thank him for his efforts during his time with us, and wish him all the best in his future career.’
