Basingstoke Town to go full-time despite relegation

have announced they will go full-time next season despite being relegated from the .

Former Hayes, Aldershot, AFC Wimbledon and boss Terry Brown was appointed as Basingstoke's new manager in March but he was unable to stop the club from the drop.

Even though they will be playing at Step 3 next term, the Dragons will be moving to a full-time playing model, focusing on youngsters released from professional clubs.

“The club are pleased to announce that the first team will be going full time from next season,” a club statement read.

“Manager Terry Brown is to start the process of recruitment with immediate effect. We are creating a different approach with the philosophy of building a young side, based around investing and recruiting the best young players released by League clubs in the south, alongside a number of experienced individuals.”
