WESTON-SUPER-MARE boss Ryan Northmore has left the struggling National League South side after their disappointing FA Cup exit on Saturday.

That defeat was Weston’s eighth in a row with their recent run of poor form leaving them 17th in the National League South.

The season had started so well for the Seagulls, winning three of their opening four games before their recent slide down the table.

Northmore, who played over 200 times for Weston as a player, took over the managerial reins in November 2014 from Micky Bell and led the club to safety.

Weston finished 16th last season but Saturday’s defeat to a club two divisions below has led to a change a the Woodspring Stadium.

A board statement said: “The board regrettably announce the immediate departure of Ryan Northmore, head coach.

“He has been a great servant to this club over a number of years as academy director, developing players for the first team. A number of them still remain in the club in a variety of playing and coaching positions.

“We wish Ryan and his family all the very best for the future. We will now commence the process of recruitment.”
