Opening rounds of the FA Cup, FA Trophy and FA Vase have been drawn

THE excitement for the new 2017-18 season has ramped up after the opening rounds of the Emirates FA Cup, Buildbase FA Trophy and Buildbase FA Vase were revealed on Friday afternoon.

The FA Cup, starting early again this season on Saturday, August 5, will kick off with 185 extra preliminary round games taking place across the country. Winners will receive £5,000 from the FA’s prize fund.

The FA Trophy is set to begin on Saturday, October 7. There were 64 games scheduled between the Step 4 participants but Hertford Town have received a walkover after Guernsey decided to pull out of the competition. Victors at this stage get £3,000 prize money.

Kicking off on Saturday, September 9, 220 first round qualifying ties were scheduled to be played in the FA Vase.

Due to Sutton Athletic, Collingham and Ilkeston being removed, Spelthorne Sports, Radford and Clipstone have been handed walkovers. Winners of the first round qualifying games receive £550 with losing clubs getting £175.
