We’re five alive on Clapton rise

THE other week, Clapton Community FC won promotion to Step 5 after winning the Eastern Counties League Division One South play-off final 4-2 against Rayleigh Town.
It was the latest episode in a 22-game unbeaten run.
Thankfully, we’ve been placed in the logical place to put us – the Essex Senior League –where there are fellow East London and nearby Essex clubs.
With an eye on the recent 1000+ & 2000+ attendances, that would be a fairly popular decision among rival chairpersons.
