Steve McKimm puts pen to paper on extension as Tonbridge Angels boss

STEVE MCKIMM will remain with Ryman Premier high-flyers until at least the end of the 2016-17 season after signing a new deal as first team manager.

McKimm joined the Angels in May 2014 after serving as assistant manager at Conference South side Sutton United.

Last season was a tough one for the club as they struggled and finished just one place and four points clear of the drop zone.

They have endured a much better campaign so far this term, however, and currently sit fourth in the Ryman Premier – just three points off leaders .

McKimm said: “This is a terrific club where the supporters are fantastic, the volunteers work hard, and the board have backed me 100 per cent.

“I'm excited at the thought of leading the players, all of whom always give me total effort, for this and next season. Let's see where that takes us!”

Chairman Steve Churcher added: “I'm very pleased that Steve has put pen to paper which means he will be leading the first team for the next 18 months.

“I know supporters will be very pleased with this news as Steve has brought a vitality to our play that has entertained us and brought more spectators through the gate.”
