Versatile defender Bradley Wood has secured a new deal at Alfreton Town having re-signed for the club a mere 34 days ago.
The 26-year-old fans’ favourite returned to North Street last month after a season away with Lincoln City, but following their promotion he found his way back to the Reds and has been given a fresh contract 11 games into the league campaign.
Wood has featured in nine of those 11 games for Nicky Law’s side, helping them to their current standing of ninth in the National League North.
Able to play across the defence and in midfield, Wood has extended his stay at Alfreton until the end of the 2018-19 season.
After coming through the ranks of the Grimsby Town academy, Wood would play 113 times for the Mariners before getting released and snapped up by Town in 2013.
Forming the backbone of the team in his first season, Wood featured in 49 out of 50 matches for Alfreton on their way to finished 11th in the National League and the defender named Player of the Season.
A move to Danny Cowley’s Lincoln City followed, and with it their promotion push to the National League title and a historic run in the FA Cup – Wood featuring in their ties against Burnley and Arsenal.
