Sholing say failing ground grading regulations came as a ‘shock’ to the club – as they also urged The FA to create a fund for all clubs who need to carry out urgent work in the wake of the tragic death of Billy Vigar.

The Boatmen were forced to switch their FA Cup third qualifying round clash with Eastbourne Borough last Saturday to AFC Portchester’s ground after an inspection had identified determined that a perimeter fence was 20cm too close to the pitch following pitch upgrades.
