JUNIOR MORIAS has sealed a move back into the Football League with Peterborough after an impressive start to the season with St Albans City.
Morias made the headlines after scoring twice against Carlisle United in the FA Cup and he was subsequently heavily linked with a move to the Posh.
The 21-year-old had been training with Peterborough recently and played in development games for the League One outfit.
Posh clearly liked what they saw and have agreed to sign Morias for an undisclosed fee with the move set to go through on January 1.
Morias only joined St Albans in the summer from National League side Boreham Wood but he has scored 12 times this season to get Football League clubs talking.
Peterborough have won the race for the former Wycombe youngster’s signature and he has agreed a two-and-a-half year deal at London Road.
Morias is hoping to sign off in style for the Saints as they welcome Oxford City in the National League South on Boxing Day.
“I would like to thank everyone at St Albans City Football Club for the fantastic support during my short time here,” he said.
“When I signed for the club in the summer, I made no secret of my desire to return to the Football League as a professional footballer and I’m extremely grateful that St Albans City have helped make this happen.
“I will always be watching out for the results come 5pm and I really hope the club go on to achieve promotion this season. I have one game left at Clarence Park on Boxing Day and I will of course give it my all to make sure we secure the three points.”
Saints boss Ian Allinson added: “When we signed Junior back in July, I said that the club would do everything possible to help him get back into the Football League, so I’m pleased we have delivered on our promise.
“Junior is a great lad and has worked extremely hard this season and I have no doubt he will be a huge success at Peterborough.
“I would like to ask all our supporters to give Junior a fantastic send off on Boxing Day and I would like to thank him for his efforts whilst wearing a Saints shirt.”
