GEOGRAPHICALLY, the teams are just under 10 miles apart, but on the football field there was a much greater distance between Biggleswade Town and Hitchen Town.
Hitchin bossed the game from the moment they went ahead from the penalty spot after 13 minutes – Alex Brown despatching the ball past a diving keeper Jake Alley. Hitchin knew how to run the clock down even with 77 minutes to go, as the Waders’ forward line were left chasing the ball as it was passed along the visitors’ back line.
