MORPETH Town’s FA Cup journey came to an abrupt end as Southport proved too clinical in front of goal, running out 3-0 winners to secure their place in the next round.
The Highwaymen started brightly and showed real intent in the opening 20 minutes, carving out several promising chances that tested the visitors’ defence.
Despite their pressure, Morpeth were unable to make their dominance count.
