Maldon in the Abbey habit to seal progress

THERE was nothing Jammy about Maldon’s progress into the next round of the cup as they put away fellow Isthmian League North side Waltham Abbey on the road.
A lively encounter produced chances for both sides during the early stages – with Kai Brown bearing down on goal for the hosts on 19 minutes but brave work from Elliot Justham denied him.
Maldon opened the scoring ten minutes later when Amine Sassi’s low strike across the face of goal nestled into the bottom left corner.
