■ NORTHERN League Division Twon strugglers Washington were no match for Step 5 high-flyers Thornaby.
Thornaby recovered from their shock 5-0 home league defeat against West Auckland to go nap themselves. Three of the goals came late in the game, Dan Flounders and Jamie Davis both scoring twice.
The opening two goals both came from set-plays, Flounders opening the scoring 13 minutes in following a foul on Lee Moore.
