WHITCHURCH midfielder Jack Griffiths saved a Brad Talbot penalty with his first touch which gave his side a place in the next round of the FA Vase.
Eric Merner had been shown a red card when he hauled down Talbot after the home defence had got into an almighty tangle but the striker’s effort was shovelled away which ultimately proved the turning point in an absorbing encounter.
